Date(s) - 21-November to 03-January
Giant gingerbread men, polar bears and even a snow leopard can be spotted on a very special Christmas trail at Painshill.
The festive fun is being created by the people who brought the spectacular dragon statues to the park and encourages families to walk a trail full of amazing animals, Christmas trees and glittering snow.
Four special realms have been created at the 158-acre landscape where the amazing statues can be spotted.
The one mile ‘Snowfari’ trail starts at the giant Nutcracker forest where youngsters can spot polar bears, penguins, learn about reindeer and if they’re really lucky find the elusive snow leopard. The trail finishes at Gingerbread Corner!
The event runs from this Saturday (Nov 21) until Sunday, January 3, 2021.
One of the finest of its kind in the world, Painshill was developed in the 18th century by the Honourable Charles Hamilton and is filled with fantastic follies, including an island in the lake, a Roman temple, a gothic tower, a quaint thatched hermitage – and even an exotic Turkish tent.
Painshill Director Paul Griffiths said: “Our wonderful park is the perfect backdrop for some festive fun. And even better families can enjoy the experience while keeping safely socially distanced!
“Our dragon statues last month were a huge hit with our visitors and these trails allow youngsters to have fun in the fresh air. We’re really looking forward to meeting these new characters!”
The event is free anytime for members and will be included in general admission for those with day tickets (day tickets are limited for social distancing so need to be booked in advance).
There will also be a fun and festive activity book for children with facts about the animals, games and puzzles which is on sale for £3 (£2.50 online in advance).
